Born to a carpenter father and a high school secretary mother, Mr. Bear was immersed in both construction and office settings from an early age.
These experiences fostered his creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability while teaching him how to engage with people from all walks of life.
With a naturally curious mind, Mr. Bear was constantly analyzing how things worked, often devising more efficient or compact ways for devices to function. He frequently took apart objects—sometimes ones he probably shouldn’t have—just to understand their inner workings.
Mr. Bear attended public schools, including the one where his mother worked, before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems.
After earning his degree, Mr. Bear secured his first job as a Helpdesk Analyst, supporting 2,500 mobile sales representatives from diverse backgrounds across 5 timezones. When that role ended, he quickly secured another Helpdesk position, but it was eliminated within two weeks due to overstaffing.
At a pivotal moment, a kind and insightful woman named Sharon recognized his potential and recommended him for an IT executive support role at the same corporation. What started as a position supporting a single vice president and their administrative assistant soon expanded to include IT support for the entire C-suite of a Fortune 100 company, the graphics department, communications team, and the international business development group.
During his tenure, Mr. Bear spent several years providing executive IT support at corporate headquarters before dedicating five years to a business unit location. There, he gained valuable insight into the differences between operating a for-profit division and managing the overhead functions of corporate headquarters.
As his role became routine, Mr. Bear sought new challenges, transitioning into server administration and networking. He later discovered his passion for project management, where he thrived for several years before advancing into a leadership role. These varied experiences molded him into the versatile and accomplished professional he is today.
Mr. Bear credits his growth and achievements to the many individuals—coworkers, leaders, and more importantly, customers—he had the privilege of working with during his 30 years in corporate America. Their influence, collaboration, and support played a key role in shaping the person he has become.
